I haven't seen it posted this week. Or am I just plain blind?

I think Ell was actually looking for that. It was a casualty of getting posted just before the migration to this site. It wasn't in the archive of the old site yet, so it didn't make the move.

Nice job finding it.

Yeah, it was a casualty of the move. But, my new poll is up. I really thought Arkansas showed they had a top-25 team this weekend despite losing, but I'm also very ready to be talked out of that.

Thoughts?

I agree that Alabama should be on top, but I don't see any reason for Texas to pass Florida. Texas has done nothing to change the pre-season thinking that Florida would be much stronger. In fact, I can't quarrel with anybody who has Florida still at #1 based on stickiness from pre-season expectations.

By the way, from my way of looking at things, Tennessee came into that game last week with a huge psychological advantage. The narrative of that game that dominated in the media was : "Will Florida run up the score?" I swear, I saw 100 and/or heard 100 print articles or TV analysts speculating on what the margin would be, always in the context of Meyer's choice whether to run it up or not. Let me tell you, asking Manichean questions in advance of the game about whether to run it up or not is a piss-poor way to get psychologically prepared for a game. Meanwhile, the UT players are reading those same articles all week and getting pissed.

Tennessee is probably better than they showed against UCLA. Under the circumstances, I didn't conclude anything particularly damaging about Florida from their comfortable 10-poin win.

Also, Auburn is playing like a Top 10 team and should definitely be ranked. CFN, maybe the smartest overall college football site there is, has 'em at #8 and I can't disagree. Malzahn is doing a very impressive job with an offense that does not seem particularly talented. I see a lot of teams in your top 25 - and, to be fair, in the AP and Coaches' Top 25, neither of which features Auburn - that haven't played as well as Auburn has. They're not playing at the Alabama-Florida-LSU level, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they take Ole Miss and the rest of their schedule. They've sure outplayed Ole Miss so far.

You should hear all the Auburn fans here on campus whining about not being ranked yet. I've even heard this "West Virginia is a MUCH better team the Virginia Tech". I was stunned. I know starting 3-0 has made Auburn fans a bit more delusional than usual, but c'mon... really?!

I was not impressed with Auburn's win over WVU. WV should have won that game, and Auburn still barely won after WV gave them the ball on 6 turnovers. WVU was poorly coached, and stopped feeding N. Devine the ball in the second half after he tore Auburn's defense up in the first two quarters. I'll give them credit for the win, and that WVU is a much better test than LaTech or Mississippi State.

Auburn probably should be in the top 25, but not in the top 20. They play Ball State (0-3) next week, and then @Tennessee. If they make it past UT without a loss than they can make a legitimate argument that they have something real going on.

Jehremy - wow, you're going to Auburn. That's heavy, man.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you. When I say they're hovering around Top 10 in my eyes, I only attribute that to parity, or to there not being any good teams, or something like that. I have seen nothing from the Plains to strike fear into any Tuscaloosa hearts.

I am, however, impressed with their offensive scheme. I don't expect us to shut them out again (although another 36-point margin is not out of the question).

I'm going to ditch my stunt vote for Arkansas and put Auburn there.

I'm also going to bump Florida back up over Texas. In retrospect, I think Glen is probably right - UT had a big advantage from the mental aspect. And Texas looked like hot poo as well (at least in spots).

I agree we won't know anything more about Auburn until after the UT game. Maybe not even then - I'm still confused about who Tennessee is...
