Bama Sports Report - An Alabama Crimson Tide Blog
There is college football tonight! South Carolina and North Carolina State square off at six, then Boise State and Oregon play late (in what's an arguably more important game). We've been keeping you up to date on the comings and goings all week long, and expect our game picks this afternoon.
Most importantly, Mark Ingram and Julio Jones are cleared to play Saturday... whew.
Here's the news for Thursday:
The Alabama football team was inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility for the third consecutive day, in preparation for playing inside the Georgia Dome on Saturday. The team worked in shells today, and looks to be relatively healthy.
Here's what you need to know:
As promised, we're ready to rock and roll with the new roster.
I've been fighting with Adobe tools for a bit trying to get a corrected copy up - for now you'll have to just know that "Greeg" McElroy is actually Greg McElroy, and we'll get to it when we can. Sorry for the inconvenience!
no commentsIt's hump day! I hate that expression...
There will be actual college football played tomorrow night. But, after the jump, we're focused on Saturday: no comments
We feel very fortunate that Brandon is doing well and that this is not a more serious situation. We are hopeful that his condition will continue to improve as we expect him to be released from the hospital later in the day today. Our concern at this time is for Brandon's continued recovery as our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, not about when he will return to football. So, we don't know when he'll be back with the team. Marcel Dareus and Luther Davis will likely see time in his stead. Get well soon Brandon. no comments
After a long summer of doing basically nothing (except our pesky day jobs), the staff at BSR is getting back in the swing of things as the 2009 college football season is finally here. Just like last year, we will go ‘In the Film Room’ and take a look at Bama’s weekly opponents by breaking down depth charts and schemes with an eye toward providing some insight to what you might see on Saturdays this fall.
This week is the Chic-Fil-A College Football Classic against Virginia Tech in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Or as it should be called, the Alabama – ACC challenge. Tech comes into the game ranked somewhere in the top ten, along with Alabama, in all of the major preseason polls. This is clearly the type of match up the Eat More Ckikin folks had in mind when they cut the check for these games.
It's Game Week! The Alabama football team practiced inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility on Monday afternoon, with an actual football game looming at the end of the week.
Here's what you need to know:
It's like deja vu all over again... Jim Wells is stepping down as Alabama's head baseball coach. Wells retired last year as well - only to come back later. So, we'll see if it sticks this time.
Mitch Gaspard, former Northwestern State (LA) head coach and current Bama assistant, will take over, according to reports.
We'll see if Brett Farve Jim Wells stays retired or comes back for more in the spring.
no commentsIf the fact that the game is at the end of the week wasn't enough, typing the word "September" in the date really hammers it home for me... football season is here!
The Bama football team practiced inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility this afternoon after an overnight scare involving one of its senior leaders.
