Alabama is 10-0. If you would have given me nine wins at the beginning of the season I would have taken it and ran. Now, here we are in control of our own destiny to earn a shot at a national title. It has been too long since that phrase was uttered (my freshman year [...]
LSU From The Couch
It can no longer be said that this Alabama team has not been tested. Between Bama’s own early mistakes, the spirited play of a fired-up and talented LSU squad, and 92,000 home faithful that rivaled close-range jet airliner decibel levels, the question was thoroughly put to the undefeated Tide, both early and late.
But by [...]
Bama Banishes Ghosts of Recent Past in 27-21 OT Win
In a game jam-packed with unwelcome recent connotations for Crimson Tide fans, Alabama survived a sloppy first half and some late-game heroics from Jarrett Lee only to assert itself on John Parker Wilson’s game-winning quarterback sneak in the Tide’s first possession of overtime. The Tide’s victory ended a five-game winning streak in the series by [...]
Weekend Roundup: 11/8/08
Here’s your Saturday morning linkage. Enjoy!
Texas’s backup center is dumb. Very dumb. Oh, and Facebook can get you into trouble. In this case, with the Secret Service. Careful, kids!
Dr. Saturday says even if we lose to LSU, we could still play for the BCS title.
The LA Times gives Bama some love.
Tony Barnhart says this could [...]
LSU Roundup: 11/8/08
Normally, we dump some links out here on Saturday (and we will this week), but I’ve got a whole bushel of interesting and bizarre LSU stuff to waste your Friday afternoon with:
Les Miles doesn’t read. I’m not sure he can write either.
Wow, the Luther Davis story went on and on. Davis said some interesting things [...]
Road Trip Guide: The Pelican State
This will be a sadly shorter Road Trip Guide for what’s probably the best road trip in the SEC. The road to Baton Rouge runs through New Orleans, and that means good food, good drink and good times.
Most Tide fans (myself included) will stay in New Orleans. Baton Rouge is a nice enough place, but [...]
LSU QB Hatch Out With Injury
According to QAFB TV in Baton Rouge LSU quarterback Andrew Hatch has suffered a leg fracture. The Tigers play Tulane this week and will have only Jarrett Lee and freshman Jordan Jefferson available. With Jefferson set to possibly redshirt it is not thought that he will play.
With Alabama heading to Baton Rouge in just 11 [...]
Alabama-LSU Set for 2:30 Kickoff
This means an early departure time from my New Orleans hotel room. Alabama visits LSU for a 2:30 pm CBS kickoff on November 8.
LSU traditionally enjoys night games at home. Anything that upsets them is OK by me.
Monday Morning Roundup Makeup
We could list all the reasons our weekly weekend roundup didn’t happen, but you don’t care. It was an off week for all of us, and now we return to action. The upside of this is it allows us a chance to use this space to wallow in the pleasure of our three biggest rivals (Auburn, [...]
Weekend Roundup - September 27
Your Saturday morning dose before I head out between the Hedges.
Larry Munson is calling it quits. As has been said elsewhere, It’s a sad day for sports fans everywhere. He was truly legendary.
The Joe Cribbs Car Wash has the most sane breakdown of Saturday’s LSU-Auburn tilt. When we lose a game again, I’ll come back [...]
