Ian Rappaport has confirmed that ESPN Gameday will follow the Tide for the second time in this young season - heading for Athens next weekend.
This isn’t a real surprise… Saturday’s game is a matchup between two top ten teams…
ESPN Gameday Coming to Athens
Alabama at Georgia Scheduled for 6:45 pm Start
It’s official - Alabama faces Georgia at 6:45 pm Central time on September 27 on ESPN. The mother ship will televise what is likely to be a matchup of top ten teams.
Auburn will host College Gameday (and LSU) this weekend; it seems unlikely that they would visit the SEC in back to back weeks, but [...]
Bama is Back… on Sirius Satellite Radio
On October 6, Sirius Satellite Radio subscribers will have Alabama broadcasts available once again. Since the start of the season, XM Radio has been the satellite home of the Tide - something that annoyed folks who bought Sirius radios precisely so we could listen to Bama.
Since the two satellite broadcast companies have formed an unholy [...]
Weekend Roundup: September 6
For your early gameday perusal:
Picture Me Rollin’ has a nice piece on houndstooth. I like his stuff too much to make fun of his fashion knowledge. Mostly, I kid because he is opposed to using “Bama”. As you can see, we’re not.
Either Mike Patrick has finally gone insane, or Arian Foster has. Either way, it [...]
Weekend Roundup - 8/30/08
We’re moving the weekend update to Saturdays, because, well, we’ll have plenty to talk about tomorrow.
Doug Segrest has an interesting article about Saban’s in-home visit with Tyler Love and his family.
This is the headline of the week from Every Day Should Be Saturday. In addition to the Dr. Lou insanity during the ESPN Thursday night [...]
Live Sports Radio 2008 Season Device is Here
And, in all fairness, it was here the other day. I’m just now getting around to opening the thing.
At any rate, it’s pictured on the right, and it’s… OK. I can get 90.7 on it in the full FM mode, so the reception isn’t bad. I can even sort of get 94.5 (which is [...]
Bad News HD Fans - Your Cable/Satellite Provider Still Sucks
You may have been excited (like I was) to hear that Raycom games this year would be broadcast in “stunning high definition”. Well, maybe not. According to Ian Rappaport at the Rap Sheet, we still lose:
That’s because, while CW21 does broadcast HD like other Birmingham TV stations, neither the Dish, nor DirecTV, nor the local [...]
CTSN Broadcasts Available Home and Away
The Crimson Tide Sports Network has arranged to make their radio broadcasts available at all venues - home and away - via Live Sports Radio. The broadcast will come directly to the receivers without delay. The receivers are $15 (shipping for mine was $5). We’ll give you first impressions when it arrives.
Seems like a nice [...]
Kickoff Times Firming Up
It must be close… kickoff times and TV schedules are getting set. The first three games are set, and our sources say the fourth is likely to be sewn up as well.
We’ve known for some time the Clemson game will kick off at 7:00 pm CST on ABC.
SEC Inks HUGE Deal with CBS for 2023 Season
And all the seasons in between.
CBS and the SEC have signed a 15 year deal for broadcast rights. That is right on through the 2023 season. That looks so wierd to type.
There are a few new wrinkles in the deal:
