We promised you a printable roster and depth chart, and now we’ve got one.
A couple of notes. Yes, I know this offensive formation would result in at least 2 penalties. It will be OK - we’re not going to line up with 12 guys on offense, but we need to show 12 to make it [...]
Printable Roster is Ready for Printing
Live Sports Radio 2008 Season Device is Here
And, in all fairness, it was here the other day. I’m just now getting around to opening the thing.
At any rate, it’s pictured on the right, and it’s… OK. I can get 90.7 on it in the full FM mode, so the reception isn’t bad. I can even sort of get 94.5 (which is [...]
Practice Report - 8/27/08
For the first time since Friday of last week, the Tide moved back outdoors for practice. Coach Saban indicated that this was primarily to allow more special teams work. The University grounds crew did a fantastic job getting the practice field ready for work today.
Selling Out For Our Readers
We’re selling out - for you.
I was grabbing a chicken sandwich at lunch the other day when I noticed that Chick-fil-A was giving away their brand new Chick-N-Strips on Labor Day. All you have to do is wear something team related. I thought, hey - that sounds like a good deal, I’ll have to remember [...]
Saban’s Defense: A Primer
I was so going to write this post… I’d even started work on it. Today, I discovered it wasn’t necessary.
The guys at Every Day Should be Saturday have enlisted Smart Football to do a preview of our game. And, he does a better job than I could have hoped to. Required reading, folks. Block out [...]
Atlanta Highway Construction Fun
We’ll have more on Atlanta related stuff later in the week, but I wanted to go ahead and throw this one out to you. If you’ve been napping, you may have missed that there’s an impending traffic snarl headed your way if you’re headed to Atlanta this weekend.
The University has posted all the relevant information [...]
Nick Fanuzzi Leaves the Team
Nick Fanuzzi has left the team. He’ll be transferring elsewhere, looking for a chance to play.
This is probably good news for the Tide, as it frees up a scholarship for next season. Fanuzzi was running with the scout team, and it seemed unlikely he’d see the field (barring some horrible circumstance).
We wish him nothing but [...]
Alabama Ranked in the Top 5 in the Conference
In Academics.
Sorry.
US News and World Report has issued their annual rankings of “National Universities” and it makes for some interesting reading. Alabama is ranked 4th among SEC schools at 83rd nationally. It’s not a surprise that Vanderbilt tops the list of SEC schools. It may be a bit surprising, though, to see the balance of [...]
Bad News HD Fans - Your Cable/Satellite Provider Still Sucks
You may have been excited (like I was) to hear that Raycom games this year would be broadcast in “stunning high definition”. Well, maybe not. According to Ian Rappaport at the Rap Sheet, we still lose:
That’s because, while CW21 does broadcast HD like other Birmingham TV stations, neither the Dish, nor DirecTV, nor the local [...]
Weekend Roundup - August 24
Less than one week… I suspect it’ll be one where no one here gets much work done.
Tony Barnhardt thinks Bama’s defense should be pretty good very quickly. Also some notes about Georgia.
