The University of Alabama football team practiced on Friday in preparation for the final scrimmage of the 2011 fall camp. As expected, the practice was held in shells, and the staff moved the practice inside to give the players a bit more of a break from the heat.

The University of Alabama football team began it's post two-a-days part of the 2011 fall camp on Thursday. This brief section just prior to the beginning of classes will have just four practices and one scrimmage before the 105 man roster is expanded on the first day of the fall semester. The weather in Tuscaloosa continued to be mild for August, but Coach Saban decided to give the squad an even bigger break from the weather, moving the full pads practice inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.

Fall camp won't officially end until next week when classes start, but realistically, the end of two a days signals the end of camp. The Tide emerges from that portion of camp thankfully unscathed by major injuries. Dee Hart hurt his knee before players officially reported, and Dont'a Hightower's injury will be over before the first snap.
Despite a very slight media viewing period this evening, there was some new to report... after the jump.
The University of Alabama took to the practice field in full pads for the first practice of Wednesday. In relatively mild temperatures for August, the Tide got after it hot and heavy this morning. In a 24 hour period where the vast majority of news is coming from off-the-field areas, it was good to see the Tide focused on football.
