Bama Sports Report - An Alabama Crimson Tide Blog
The Alabama football team practiced Wednesday, continuing their preparation for the LSU Tigers. This is the final practice of the week that will have a media viewing period.
Here's what you need to know:
The Alabama football team practiced again on Tuesday in preparation for the #1 LSU Tigers. The full pads practice was the second official practice for the Bengal Tigers.

The University of Alabama football team officially began work for the LSU game on Monday. The practice was held on Coach Saban's 60th birthday and began what should be a very interesting week.
Here's what you need to know:
For the first time since the invention of the BCS there will be a #1 vs. #2 matchup in the SEC. If you've been living under a rock for the last six weeks or so, you might not know that LSU will visit Alabama this weekend. CBS has negotiated to get the game into prime time. ESPN is doing Game Day from Tuscaloosa despite the fact that it will be advertising for a CBS game. If you watched a game on television this past weekend, you likely saw a video package about the game. At the least, the announcers made a reference to the game.
Simply put, it's a big game.

The University of Alabama football team has wrapped up its practice week for the Tennessee Volunteers. A walk-through on Friday will put the finishing touches on the week, and on Saturday we will all see enough of that horrible color to last us for a lifetime. In case you've forgotten... I really hate orange.
Here's what you need to know:
It is now officially Tennessee week, which means that it's time for me to remind everyone of just how much I hate orange. I would love to give you an analogy here to help quantify, but I simply can't think of anything that loves anything else, or hates anything else as much as I hate orange. So you'll just have to believe me when I tell you - I hate orange.

Alabama's 8 pm Eastern time kick left me with plenty of time to analyze Saturday's action from the best possible place to seriously watch football: a packed Tijuana Flat's across the street from the swamp. They had TVs, $12 64 ounce beers, and, most importantly of all, four open seats for me and the crew I was with (thanks for saving us a spot, Heather!).
There, very little was clarified. A variety of strange and confusing games leaves us with the poll I've constructed.
I've moved the Tide into first place. If there's a better team in the country, we'll see it Saturday in Baton Rouge. Sadly, since Alabama broke John Brantley and Florida is on the road against LSU, an apples to apples comparison is nearly impossible. But we'll re-evaluate who is the number one team in the country next week. Wisconsin takes third by throttling what I thought was a very good Nebraska team. They're clearly not ready for the prime time. Oklahoma and Boise State round out my top five - the full poll is after the jump.

Here's what you need to know:
Well, I suppose I'm on the LSU train now. You can force that many turnovers once or twice, and it's a fluke. But LSU just keeps on keepin' on with the turnover creation festival, and it's enough for them to put them in the top slot. You can bet dollars to donuts that they're number one in the overall BlogPoll as well.
Oklahoma struggled mightily for a good long while with Missouri, so Alabama holds pace at number after two blasting Arkansas.

The University of Alabama football team practiced on Monday in preparation for Saturday's game at Florida. The Tide practiced in shorts in the muggy Tuscaloosa afternoon - perfect weather for prepping the team for a game that will be played in "The Swamp".
