Check out the full write-up after the jump.
There are guys who need a year or so of seasoning. Maybe it’s to work on their size or their technique or their attitude. By all accounts, Hasean Clinton-Dix is not one of those guys. Dix is listed as a five star safety – the best at his position and the number seven overall prospect in the country – by Rivals. ESPN is slightly less optimistic – they have him as a four star player, second best safety and 19th best overall.
No matter what, that’s heady praise. He played his high school ball with Dee Hart and led his team to the Florida 6A championship game undefeated, before dropping the championship to Miami Central.
Clinton-Dix committed early - April 17 of 2010. Depite rumors to the contrary, he never wavered in that commitment. He was a huge recruiting cheerleader for the Tide throughout the fall - he seemed to be here on an unofficial visit every time Bama had a big recruititng weekend. He was a huge factor in Alabama's recruitment of his classmate, former Michigan commitment and Rivals #1 Running Back Hart.
He's already got a big time nickname as well. If you've heard Nick Saban refer to Ha-Ha - he's referring to Clinton-Dix.
He has great footspeed and closes very quickly according to the scouts. He’s played everything from Wildcat QB to running back, to wide receiver, but he’s unlikely to see time on the offensive side of the ball at Alabama. He is an old school headhunter who needs to work on honing his technique and wrapping up better while tackling.
Guess what Alabama’s coaching staff specializes in teaching?
