Fall camp won't officially end until next week when classes start, but realistically, the end of two a days signals the end of camp. The Tide emerges from that portion of camp thankfully unscathed by major injuries. Dee Hart hurt his knee before players officially reported, and Dont'a Hightower's injury will be over before the first snap.
Despite a very slight media viewing period this evening, there was some new to report... after the jump.
For the first time during fall camp, we saw Alfred McCullough working at second unit guard on the left side. For all of camp, and all of last year, McCullough was stationed at tackle. He's been displaced by the Kouandijo brothers at the tackle positions - Cyrus on the left, Arie on the right. This could be a fairly major shift in the backup duties on the line. Again, these are organizational groupings, and Nick Saban could be moving folks around based on needed reps.
No matter, the staff is showing confidence in both Kouandijo brothers at the tackles. McCullough could clearly move back outside - since he's played there before - but the sign here is that the staff believes the Kouandijos are ready for the big time.
Speaking of organizational groupings, during a passing drill, Hasean Clinton-Dix and Vinnie Sunseri were working the second team. This should not be evidence that these guys have passed Nick Perry, Will Lowery or Jarrick Williams but both have had a great camp, and they're getting more reps to prepare them for potential playing time - most likely on special teams.
That's all we've got for the exceptionally short viewing session this evening. We'll be back with our report after the 2:30 pm practice tomorrow.
