The Alabama football team practiced for the 11th time this spring on Friday. The practice was held in shorts to simulate a game-week Friday, as the Tide heads into its second scrimmage of the spring on Saturday.

Here's what you need to know:

Tyler Love was back in a white jersey after spending a week in black due to a concussion. He split his time at right and left tackle, working with the third unit at both places.

Linebacker Jonathan Atchison was in a red jersey for the first time this spring, after spending the first two weeks in black with a bicep injury. He spent his time at will linebacker.

Mark Barron (pectoral), Jarrick Williams (shoulder), Nick Perry (shoulder), and Brad Smelley (wrist) continue to practice in black no contact jerseys. All four of these guys have been in black for the entirety of the spring, but they have all participated in every practice.

Dre Kirkpatrick has had a brace on his right wrist since last Saturday's scrimmage, but he's not been limited at all. He's continued to work with the first unit defense, though he has been pushed by Dee Milliner, DeQuan Menzie, and John Fulton. The Tide is deep at corner, and we might see all of these guys end up on the field at the same time in Bama's dime package, with Dre possibly moving inside to the money or the star.

Josh Chapman is wearing an elbow brace and Jesse Williams is wearing a knee brace, though both guys are going through drills without being limited. Alabama is insanely deep with talent along the defensive line, and none of the guys want to miss a rep. Look for Bama to rotate a lot of guys in and out along the line this season.

Brandon Moore and Robby Green are both still absent from practice while they sit out suspensions. If they are not back on the practice field on Monday, you would have to start questioning whether or not they will return at all.

Otherwise, things are moving ahead quietly for Bama. And that's exactly what you want during the spring. As is typically the case under Nick Saban, there hasn't been a whole lot of news coming out of the camp. That only helps to build the anticipation for next Saturday's A-Day game.

Alabama will scrimmage on Saturday, and we'll have our normal report.
