Well, Oregon has finally sufficiently impressed me. They look great. I can't say that I disagree with Clay Travis when he says they'll drop a conference game that they shouldn't, but until they do, they look too good to ignore.

Ohio State continues to look good but not great, so they drop a bit. That means Boise State and TCU both climb. The other climber this week? Auburn. I've got them at six, and if they beat Kentucky convincingly this weekend, they'll be in the top five. Do I think they're that good? My answer - and the balance of my poll - after the jump.

In a word: no. I think Auburn is a very good football team. I don't think they're a top five team, but they're going to be favored in every game until they come to Tuscaloosa. I don't think they'll lose before then, meaning I believe we'll have two undefeated teams in the Iron Bowl playing for the SEC West crown in a de-facto BCS Championship quarterfinal. It will be unbelievable. I don't agree with Clay Travis's argument (in the column linked above) that they'll beat Alabama - but it should be an epic battle.

I'm not even going to mention Les Miles and LSU except to say that it will catch up to them at some point. Unbelievable.

Penn State and Texas say goodbye, and it should be difficult for either to crawl back in for a bit. Except that the bottom of the poll includes Northwestern and Air Force. So, it may not be that difficult.

Those are my thoughts for the week - I welcome yours in the comments.
