The Cameron Newton recruiting story has its first on the record accusation. Kenny Rogers, the agent-like substance at the heart of this matter, alleged on ESPN radio in Dallas this afternoon that Cecil Newton told him "it's not going to be free this time" - referring to Cameron Newton's football services. Auburn has not been accused of anything at this point in the process. But Cecil Newton certainly has been accused of a great deal. According to Kevin Scarbinsky, Cecil Newton is not taking messages this afternoon, but it would seem he has some questions to answer.
The old saying goes that where there is smoke, there's fire. There is presently a helluva lot of smoke.
