Turns out, Gregg Doyel is a condescending turd – displayed in full force on the Opening Drive (on WJOX in Birmingham). I have no love for Al Del Greco (he did wear orange and blue), but that’s just not necessary. Jay Barker steps up nicely to his defense.

I heard the Greg Doyel thing on JOX the other morning and honestly thought it was a joke until Jay hung up on the guy. It was actually the best thing I have heard on the radio in a while.

Greg Doyel deserved to have the premise of his article questioned. His defensiveness was very telling. He lacked evidence to back it up. That there was a disparity between the two polls does not validate the conclusion of his article. Unless he has “sources” telling him that actual coaches dislike Saban and are penalizing Alabama in the polls because of it, the article’s conclusion is nothing more than a hunch on his part.
