In what had begun to be a somewhat scary situation regarding his academic status, Alabama basketball signee Tony Mitchell was finally able to enroll in classes at Alabama today.
Mitchell, a 6′6 swing man and 3-pt specialist was the #38 player in the nation last year according to Rivals.com.

Nick Fanuzzi has left the team. He’ll be transferring elsewhere, looking for a chance to play.
This is probably good news for the Tide, as it frees up a scholarship for next season. Fanuzzi was running with the scout team, and it seemed unlikely he’d see the field (barring some horrible circumstance).

Alabama’s special teams return almost completely intact from last year. Starters Leigh Tiffin (kicker), PJ Fitzgerald (punter/holder), Javier Arenas (returns), and Brian Selman (long snapper) all return, which should give the Tide some stability in a part of the game that typically makes a larger impact on the game than the casual fan realizes.
