Breaking news from the broadcast front - the Crimson Tide Sports Marketing has announced that the Tide radio this year will feature a guest player. From today’s “Crimson Tide Today” (hosted by Tom Roberts):

We’ll have all the action starting at 4 o’clock that Saturday… with Eli Gold, Barry Krauss, Chris Stewart, Tyler Watts, yours truly…and our guest player for the opener…Antonio Langham.

That’s also official word that the broadcast will start at 4:00 pm on August 30. But that’s not the only newsworthy tidbit from Crimson Tide Today…

Hey Coach is moving on down the road. To Buffalo Wild Wings:

We’ll talk with both coaches Thursday night on our first Hey Coach of the season…presented by Alfa Insurance.

And we have a new home…we’ll be on the air from Buffalo Wild Wings here in Tuscaloosa starting at 6:30 Thursday.

So, the news here is that Tom, Eli and company will be joined by a rotating guest - starting with Antonio Langham. That’s good news; it should significatnly increase the “football IQ” of the broadcast team. Langham played in the NFL for many years, and had an excellent career at the Capstone.

The move to Buffalo Wild Wings for Hey Coach will give fans more room to see and enjoy Nick Saban and the other cast of coaches on the show. The room at Wings was really too small - especially after the hiring of Nick Saban.
