Bama has been very fortunate thus far in fall camp on the injury front. We’ve got an injury update on the Tide players who have dealt with injury so far in camp.
We told you in our Day 7 Practice Report that Baron Huber & Ali Sharrief had joined Darius Hanks in black no contact jerseys.
According to head coach Nick Saban both guys took contact to the head in Wednesday night’s practice. He indicated that there might possibly be slight concussions for both guys, though I would personally guess that Huber was more severe than Sharrief, given that Ali participated in team drills.
Darius Hanks is still recovering from shoulder surgery in the spring, but he has participated in all team drills. At this point it is possibly an “any day” situation in regards to when he will be cleared for full contact.
Chris Jackson missed team drills in 3 practices after tweaking his ankle on fan day, but he returned to his normal white jersey for practice today. Coach Saban seemed pleased with the fact that Chris was willing to push himself despite not quite being 100%.
Walk-on Adam Fuller from Glencoe, AL had surgery to correct an injury to his left hand suffered on fan day and has been removed from the 105 man roster. It is unclear how long he will be out, but when you consider that the coaches thought enough of him to invite him into the 105-man camp, you would have to think that he’ll rejoin the team as soon as possible.
Tyler Love practiced for the first time today without an extra brace on his right leg. He seems to be fully recovered from the stress fracture that he suffered during the summer.
To be in this type of injury shape after 1 full week of practice is pretty fantastic. Given Alabama’s recent terrible luck with injuries, this is a good sign. We’ll keep you posted on these and all injuries that might crop up throughout Alabama’s camp.

We’re definitely better off than the Gators. They’re dropping all over the place down there. Let’s hope it stays that way.
After what the Braves have been through this year, it could not be more obvious that taking care of your players is essential.

Mighty Sam -
There’s no question that taking care of your players is a big deal. And while luck is a major part of it, you can avoid some injuries with better conditioning. And it appears as though the Tide is extremely well conditioned at the moment.
