Richard Hendrix has been selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 49th pick of the NBA Draft. Jay Bilas is presently highlighting his rebounding skills. He’s calling him “tough” and the graphics say he “Must Improve: Athleticism”. That always goes well.
The Warriors don’t seem a particularly good fit for Hendrix; in the first round, they selected Anthony Randolph - the 6′10″ forward from LSU. In addition to Randolph, the Warriors have the journeyman Austin Croshere and first year player Brandan Wright (of North Carolina) at the 4. Matt Barnes and Al Harrington are also on the roster as post players. It seems unlikely that Golden State will carry 6 players at power forward.
Croshere is an unrestricted free agent - they probably don’t bring him back. None of the other PF on this list are free agents. It will be tough for Hendrix to out fight Randolph and earn playing time on this team. I’m concerned that this isn’t a particularly great fit for Hendrix to see lots of playing time.
