Alabama has announced the addition of Mike Vollmar to its Athletic Department. His official title will be Associate Athletics Director for Football.

While that title is lofty for someone considered to be on Nick Saban’s staff, Vollmar is actually replacing the retiring Todd Alles in the position of Director Football Operations. The title appears to have been the carrot dangled for Vollmar to get him to leave Michigan State, where he had served in a similar capacity for 12 years.
