Alabama reserve guard Justin Tubbs has asked for, and been granted, his release from the University of Alabama. While Tubbs was a fan favorite, his loss on the court will be minimal, as he was the 11th man - and last scholarship player - off of the bench for the Tide this season. When that fact is taken into account, it really isn’t much of a shock that he would desire a change of scenery.

While Justin Tubbs is a great kid and a hard worker, his leaving will not have the same impact upon Bama’s overall team success as Mississippi State will likely suffer with the loss of Ben Hansbrough, who has asked for his release.
