We’re working diligently right now to get things going here and bring you the best commentary on Alabama sports on the internet. There is still some work to be done to get us going full-time, but this weekend, the disappointing news came the Gridiron Bash has been canceled.
I’m no fan of Alan Jackson, so I was almost certainly not going to make it to the concert, but I appreciated the idea behind the event. It’s unclear right now whether this was the case of sour grapes from an NCAA member school that wasn’t invited to participate, or if this is a case of the promoters not being able to fulfill their monetary guarantees. Either way, it’s a shame that the 20 schools that were participating, and battling for a combined $1.75 million in scholarship rewards, have to change their spring game plans this late in the process. The folks running the Gridiron Bash have let it be known that they want to get involved in promoting some of the bigger rivalry games around the country… hopefully that plan will work out better than this one.
Thanks for being patient with us while we get things started here.
ROLL TIDE!
