This man making an anguished face makes me happy.
If you missed it, Phil Fulmer is not passing a kidney stone or thinking about a deposition. Tennessee placekicker Daniel Lincoln gagged a 34-yard attempt to tie in the first overtime in the Rose Bowl against UCLA. UCLA wins the game 27-24.
The vaunted "Clawfense" headed by vaunted offensive coordinator Dave Clawson (yes, they call it that with a straight face and no sense of irony) was, in a word, anemic. Johnathon Crompton, whose preseason hype had approached Julio Jones's in orange circles, was a pathetic 19 of 42 with no touchdowns and an interception.
This followed an abysmal first half performance (and remarkable second half turnaround) by UCLA quarterback Kevin Craft. Craft threw four interceptions in the first half, before turning it around and moving UCLA down the field for a big second half.
A truly exciting game on Labor Day night.
