With the NFL season upon us, let’s take a look at former Alabama players and their NFL status. We will break this up into offense and defense over the next two days.
Shaun Alexander, RB – Free agent: Likely to retire
Wesley Britt, OL – New England Patriots: 2nd team left tackle
Tim Castille, RB – Arizona Cardinals: List as 2nd team fullback but I had someone in the know tell me he was a likely starter in week 1
Brodie Croyle, QB – Kansas City Chiefs: Starter
Kenneth Darby, RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – released, but signed to Atlanta Falcons practice squad
Shawn Draper, OL - Miami Dolphins - released
D J Hall, WR – New York Giants - released
Atlas Herrion, OL – Houston Texans – released
Evan Mathis, OL – Carolina Panthers – released
Jason McAddley, WR – Washington Redskins – released
Leron McClain, RB – Baltimore Ravens – Starter at fullback
Chris Samuels, OL – Washington Redskins – Starter at left tackle
Justin Smiley, OL – Miami Dolphins – Starter at left guard
Shaud Williams, RB – Buffalo Bills – free agent
