We'll have more coverage of Bama's 34-24 win over Virginia Tech in the coming days. I'm still in Atlanta through tomorrow, and Ell and Crump are on their way home today. Needless to say, we're all a little tired.
Having said that, my very simple analysis is that this is a very, very good Alabama football team. Bama ran up 498 yards of total offense against a defense that is expected to be among the nation's best. The Tide also held an explosive offense to 155 total yards.
There is a lot for the team to improve on, since the game was kept close mostly by Bama's mistakes. But Alabama handily beat a very good football team on Saturday. And that gives me reason to believe that 2009 should be a very good year.
