Former Tide star Shaun Alexander is close to getting back in the NFL. Alexander has a meeting with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, and league sources say, if all goes according to plan,
Alexander will sign with the Skins.
Alexander has been out of the league this year, after the Seattle Seahawks cut him in the preseason.
He would backup Clinton Portis in DC. Portis's regular backup, Ladell Betts, suffered a knee injury in Sunday's game and is expected out for a few weeks.
