Coach Saban was named the Walter Camp Foundation National Coach of Year today. He's the first Bama coach to take home the honor since Gene Stallings in 1992. That means he's now been honored as the national coach of year by The Sporting News and the Home Depot. Yet oddly enough he had to split the SEC coach of the year with Ole Miss's Houston Nutt and Vanderbilt's Bobby Johnson. While both of those guys did fine jobs in 2008, a clear bias was in effect here, He's still up for the Bear Bryant Award, the Eddie Robinson Award, and the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year. My guess is that he wins all three.
