We're going to make it a habit of picking a handful of games in this space each week, and tracking how poorly we do. Our games will be selected by glen55, and we'll make a mockery of trying to get them right. We'll simply give our picks for the weekend, and then a bit of "analysis" about the Bama game.

And, the game that matters...

I am trying so hard not to drink the Kool-Aid. It's in such a pretty, pretty cup, and it's the cherry flavor I love so much. I want to. I want to believe Julio is the next surprise Heisman trophy winner (as some gentleman on Finebaum
guaranteed yesterday - and we wonder why folks make fun of us). I want to believe that McClain was right when he said that Don'ta Hightower is "better than I was at the same point". I want to think that JPW will be much improved in the new offense.
But I think that they've got too much D and too many backs for us. There's absolutely no Bill Simmons reverse jinx in my prediction either...
Prediction: Clemson (very close)

This is where it all comes together. The offense is new, and despite what Saban says, very different. The Tigers will be surprised. Their young offensive line won't be able to contain Cody and company, and it'll be a long, hard day for the Clemson offense.
Prediction: Bama
Glen55:
Clemson's rushing defense will be solid up the middle and solid outside, but vulnerable in-between. I expect Alabama to establish an off-tackle running game that will open up the defense for downfield strikes to a
talented young receiving corps.
Clemson will struggle on the ground but will establish a short passing game. However, their vertical passing game will backfire on them with picks and sacks, giving Bama the margin of victory.
Prediction: Bama
Crump:
Bama has a ton of guys coming back to mix in with all these highly touted freshman. Clemson is a tough team to try and get some rhythm against. Clemson has some injuries and some inexperienced players in key spots. Aw heck, I am a homer.
